Throughout Guitar Hero games, the designers introduced new characters you could play as while performing your favorite songs. In Guitar Hero 5, Kurt Cobain was introduced. In order to play as Kurt Cobain, you must unlock this character. Once you complete the required tasks, you can play any song using Kurt Cobain as your band member, regardless if you are the singer, drummer or guitar player. You don't have to pay extra to unlock Kurt Cobain.
Instructions
1. Choose the career or practice mode to play the game. Select "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana from the list of songs, then choose your difficulty level (easy, medium, hard or expert).
2. Hit the colored buttons to match the notes on the screen. Activate your star power when playing in sections that are heavy with notes. This will give you more points. Keep in mind that the more points you earn, the more achievements you unlock.
3. Complete each note as accurately as possible. To earn four gold stars, you must hit every note after you get to the "4x" star power level (this will appear at the top left corner of your screen). When you score at least four gold stars on this song, you will unlock Kurt Cobain. You will see how many gold stars you earned at the top right corner of the screen and at the end when your percentage is displayed.
