Winnie the Pooh is a beloved childhood character whose sweet and simple nature and interesting friends have intrigued children and adults alike for over 70 years. Winnie the Pooh movies, shorts stories, and the original book feature dozens of characters, but only eight major characters who are the regulars. The book, "Winnie the Pooh" was written in 1926 by A. A. Milne, and followed up in 1928 with "The House at Pooh Corner." These books feature the author's son, Christopher Robin, his best friend, Winnie the Pooh, and a host of other characters who live in the 100 Acre Wood.
Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh is the main character of the Pooh stories. He is a lovable little bear who always wears a red shirt. He loves honey and making up poems and rhymes. Winnie the Pooh is most often known simply as Pooh, or Pooh-Bear.
Christopher Robin
Christopher Robin is the master of the 100 Acre Wood. He lives behind a green door that no one ever goes through. He loves to host birthday parties and help his friends. Based on A. A. Milne's son, Christopher Robin is the only human in the Pooh books. He loves Pooh, and often calls him a "silly old bear!"
Piglet
Piglet's best friend is Pooh. He is a little pink pig who acts very worried and nervous all the time. He is always saying, "Oh dear! Oh dearie dear dear dear!" He loves balloons and going on adventures with Pooh.
Tigger
Tigger is a character who resembles a tiger, and he is very proud of the fact that "the most wonderful thing about tiggers" is he's the only one. He loves to bounce everywhere, and even claims that he can "unbounce" other animal friends. He is a fussy eater, only really liking extract of malt. He is a fun, although not usually very thoughtful, character.
Rabbit
Rabbit is a rabbit who loves to garden; he loves to grow and eat carrots. He is very smart and always feels that he is right all the time. Rabbit does not like it when his carefully organized life gets messed up or interrupted. He does not like Tigger at all.
Eeyore
Eeyore is a gloomy donkey who lives in the 100 Acre Wood. He is a blueish gray color and has a pink bow on his tail. He talked slowly and with a deep voice. Eeyore is always losing his tail, and believes his friends never notice him.
Owl
Owl is believed to be the wisest animal to live in the 100 Acre Wood. He uses big words to tell his long, boring stories to whoever will listen. Pooh will often go to him for advice, since he is so wise. Owl can write and draw, although not very well or error-free.
Kanga and Roo
Kanga is a kangaroo, and Roo is her son. Kanga is the only female in the 100 Acre Wood, and Roo is the youngest. Kanga tries to teach Winnie the Pooh jump every Tuesday. She is a nurturer in the books, while Roo likes to go on adventures with Tigger.
