Drawing cartoons directly into your computer can be a great time-saver.
Online cartoons and comic strips are a good way to get your artwork before the public and perhaps build a name for yourself if you have further ambitions. Creating cartoons directly on your computer rather than drawing to paper and scanning them in takes some getting used to, but once you adjust your hand and get used to the software, you will likely find it as easy as drawing with pencil and paper.
Instructions
Connect Your Tablet and Draw
1. Connect your Tablet to your computer's USB port and follow the instructions for installing it.
2. Open your graphic editing program such as PhotoShop and select the pen tool.
3. Using your pen, practice drawing a few lines and strokes on the tablet to get a feel for it.
4. Draw some closed shapes, click the "Paint Bucket" tool on the toolbar, then click on a closed area in order to fill that area with a color.
5. Create a new document and try to draw your first character for your cartoon. Do not worry about editing it until you are done.
6. Make minor edits by using the tools on the toolbar if you feel it's necessary to erase errant lines or add perfectly straight shapes if they suit your purpose.
7. Add your second character or the second pane of your cartoon. When you are finished, clean it up using the toolbar as you did with the first character. Continue adding and cleaning characters and scenes until your cartoon is finished.
8. Choose "File" and then "Save" from the menu and save your program in its native format.
