Ever receive a card so important that you want to save it? Unfortunately, most times those cherished memories end up in a file somewhere, when your appreciation for them means they should be in a place of honor. You can easily solve this dilemma by framing your favorite mementos and displaying them as the art they are.
Instructions
1. Decide whether or not you would like to display the inside message from the sender as a part of the art you are framing. This guide will provide directions for both methods.
2. If your are displaying just the cover, you should fold the card flat along the crease. If you want to display both sides, cut the card along the crease, making sure both sides are as even as possible. It's best to trim the fray along these edges with a paper cutter, but if none is available, a pair of scissors and a paper cutter will work just fine.
3. You should purchase a matte that is sized so that the card is just a tiny bit larger than the opening. Most cards are 5 x 7-inches, so look for mattes that work with a 5 x 7-inch picture. The depth of the matte and the frame you wish for it to fit into is up to you. If you are using both sides of the card, you will need a matte that fits both sides of the card, side by side or vertically.
4. Place the matte upside down, free of the frame, on a flat surface.
5. Turn the side of the card you wish to display upside down against the matte. If you are displaying both sides, repeat this for the second side.
6. Tape the card against the matte using one piece of single-sided tape each on the top and bottom. Scotch tape is best as it is easy to reposition.
7. Turn the matte around and check out how it looks from the front. If it looks as you want it to, turn it around again and firmly tape the card in place.
8. Place the card and matte inside and appropriately sized frame and attach the back securely.
