A soundtrack is an essential addition to an iStopMotion animation to create a mood and tie the animation actions together. It also engages the audience's ear, which brings them further into the animation for a more complete viewing experience.
Instructions
1. Select the "View" tab at the bottom right corner of the iStopMotion animation working screen.
2. Click on "Soundtrack" located in the options list down the right side of the screen.
3. Load a sound file. Click on the square button to the right of the "Soundtrack" drop-down options menu. It has a picture of a gear wheel on it.
4. Select "Load" to bring up your computer's browse function so you can locate the sound file.
5. Locate the sound file you want to use as your iStopMotion soundtrack.
6. Select the sound file.
7. Click the "Open" button at the bottom of the browse box.
8. Wait for the sound file to load. When the file is finished loading, a sound wave visual appears at the bottom of the screen. This visual shows you the progression of the soundtrack in relation to the progression of your iStopMotion animation action.
9. Check the "Play Soundtrack" button in the "Soundtrack" drop-down options menu. The soundtrack starts to play.
10. Offset the soundtrack by entering a time delay interval into the "Offset" numbers box in the "Soundtrack" drop-down menu. This delays the start of your soundtrack until the specified point in your iStopMotion animation.
11. Replace the animation soundtrack. Click the button with the gear wheel depicted on it and select "Replace."
12. Delete the animation soundtrack at any time. Click the gear wheel button and select "Remove."
