Yahoo! offers a free web-based email service, Yahoo! Mail. A Yahoo email account has a user-friendly, intuitive interface and unlimited storage space. But you need to upgrade to the Yahoo! Mail Plus fee-based service to access such features as the POP protocol communication needed for Outlook Express or similar mail programs, or the email forwarding service.
Instructions
1. Go to the Yahoo! website (see Resources).
2. Click "Sign Up" in the upper-right corner of the page to get to the account registration.
3. Type or select using drop-down menus the personal information needed to create your Yahoo! account. That includes your name, gender, birth date, country of residence and a ZIP code (for USA only).
4. Select a unique name for your Yahoo! email and a password. Then choose two security questions and type your answers in the fields. You can answer those questions to retrieve a forgotten password.
5. Type the code shown (a combination of letters and numbers) in the corresponding field. Then check the box to agree with Yahoo's account terms and conditions and click the button "Create My Account."
6. Click "Continue" to open your Yahoo! email.
