Creative Ways To Display Greeting Cards

Creative Ways to Display Greeting Cards

As much as you might love to receive greeting cards, you can accumulate many between birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. If you store them in a drawer or box, others won't be able to read and enjoy them as you have in the past. Instead of tossing cards or putting them away, consider displaying your old greeting cards in a creative way.

Hanging Mobile

Purchase or make a hanging mobile to display your most treasured greeting cards. Hook or tape each card to the end of each piece of string or wire on the mobile, then hang it up for decoration in your bedroom or a near a set of family pictures. Make sure the cards stay slightly open while hanging so that guests can read them with ease. You can find a hanging mobile in a craft or home store. If you want to make one yourself, you can create a simple mobile using hangers and other household items.

Card Collage

Create a card collage for display in your home or office. Purchase a large bulletin board from a supply store that can hold at least 10 cards at a time. Open the cards and post them so that they overlap each other to create a fun collage. Decorate the bulletin board with accents such as stars, rhinestones and ribbons to make it look interesting and welcoming. You can also line the bulletin board with ribbon and attach the cards directly to the ribbon. Consider painting the border of the bulletin board so that it goes with your decor better.

Album Pages

Try displaying greeting cards in a standard photo album. This is ideal because viewers can look at both sides of the card instead of just the inside, which would be the case if it were displayed on a wall. Purchase a photo album sized slightly larger than an average greeting card when opened. An 8.5-by-11-inch album or larger should fit a greeting card comfortably. Remove any cardboard inserts in the album, then open each card and slip it inside of the plastic pages. Add stickers or use a marker to write information about the occasion on the plastic covering.
