Create A Sisterhood Scrapbook

Scrap-booking is an ideal way to capture a relationship or special time in your life. Creating a Sisterhood Scrapbook that celebrates the unique relationship between women is a way to honor this special bond. Whether you want to celebrate your relationship with your sister or your best friends, capturing the unique memories and stories in a scrapbook is a great way to pay tribute to the sisterhood in your life.

Instructions

1. Decide which type of sisterhood you are honoring with a scrapbook. Is it an actual relationship between you and your sister? Or a bond of friendship between your best friend or your group of friends? This will help set the tone for your scrapbook. For example, you may wish to make your scrapbook sweet and sentimental for your sister or wild and crazy for your friends.

2. Gather all of your scrap-booking materials. You can find these at craft and art supply stores with a varying price range. There are many scrapbook materials on the market so try to focus on what you truly need to stay within your budget.

3. Gather the items that represent your memories within your sisterhood. Find as many pictures as you can and make copies so that you always have an extra set. Find music lyrics to favorite songs you share and write out short stories of good times. Cut out pictures from magazines along with words or quotes that convey women and friendship. Find some small meaningful items like seashells from your vacation together or concert ticket stubs.

4. Lay out the order of your pictures and objects in a timeline of events. Find a large space to spread out your timeline. As you place pictures, stories and objects in chronological order, you will begin to get a feel for your scrapbook. The pages will start to take form in front of your eyes.

5. Remember that you are honoring your special sisterhood. You can use a theme for your scrapbook. For example, consider a collection of the funniest memories you share or follow your relationship from its beginning to the present time. You can design a sisterhood logo that fits your relationship and place it on the front cover or the first page. If you can't design your own logo, modify an existing logo or use a picture that captures the essence of your relationship.

6. Write a special note or introduction to place at the beginning of your scrapbook. This should include the reason why you decided to make a sisterhood scrapbook and should articulate how special this relationship is. If you have a hard time writing, search for a poem or quotes about sisterhood and friendship that conveys your feelings.

7. Begin affixing the items to the scrapbook pages. Use markers, glitter, colorful patterned paper and even photo sticker captions to add flare and creativity to your scrapbook. If you are going with a theme for your sisterhood, remain consistent but don't be afraid to stray from the theme for a special page that you want to stand out.
