Create A Tattoo Template

Tattoos have made a resurgence among young people.

According to the Smithsonian Magazine, people have used tattoos for thousands of years as status symbols, declarations of love, for religious reasons, as amulets and, occasionally, as a form of punishment. The earliest known tattoos date back to 2000 B.C. As of January 2011, tattoo artists use colorful inks to liven up tattoos and templates to form a guideline that adds an extra layer of control over the final product. If you are interested in using a tattoo template, you can learn how in a few easy steps.

Instructions

1. Draw your tattoo design using a sheet of paper and a pen or pencil. Create strong, bold lines to make tracing your design easier. Use a ball point pen to draw the lines if you like.

2. Tape a piece of tracing paper over your design. Trace your design using a ball point pen. Press lightly on the paper to avoid ripping it.

3. Transfer the design to carbon paper. Remove the protective sheet and place the paper face up, with the yellow sheet facing down. Tape tracing paper over the carbon paper and trace the design, etching it in.
