Funding Grants For The Arts

Grants for the arts exist.

The National Endowment for the Arts, or NEA, issues grants for the arts, arts education and other related pursuits to non-profit or government organizations. These grants are given for a variety of artistic projects and cover the costs associated with undertaking the project. Grants are not loans. They do not accrue interest and the funding does not have to be repaid.

Access to Artistic Excellence

The National Endowment for the Arts' Access to Artistic Excellence Grant exists to promote artistic creativity, preserve cultural heritage and make the arts accessible throughout the nation's communities. According to the NEA, these grants are given to projects that promote an innovative or new form of art, show projects to under-served populations or improve the efficacy of arts organizations, among others. Funding amounts vary based on project need. To be eligible for this grant, organizations must meet the aforementioned requirements and fill out and submit the application package found on the NEA's website, nea.gov. The application must be sent through Grants.gov.
