American Restaurants In Seoul Korea

There has long been an American presence in Seoul.


Since the days of the Korean War, there has been an American presence in Seoul, South Korea. Seoul even has its own Westernized section of the city called Itaewon, which features American and other kinds of Western-style clothing shops, bookstores and restaurants. Homesick military, tourists, businesspeople and English teachers abroad can find almost all the comfort foods of home in Itaewon and greater Seoul, from hamburgers to steaks, and from seafood to pasta.

Eric's serves several kinds of steaks.


Eric's offers affordable steaks prepared by chefs who honed their cooking skills in New York City. The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner. The menu includes porterhouse steaks, rib-eyes, hamburger steaks and New York sweet chili steak. Steaks come with a variety of sauces, cheese, eggs, bread and potatoes. If steaks are not your preference, you can order one of several grilled chicken platters instead. Eric's also has beef, chicken and shrimp salads, and a dinner-time organic salad bar. The restaurant has a number of imported beers, such as Heineken, Asahi, Miller and Budweiser, and also offers sodas, tea and juice.

Kate's Kitchen


Kate's Kitchen has burgers, chicken wings, and more.


Kate's serves lunch and dinner, and offers both set menus, which include appetizer, entrees and beverages, and a la carte dishes. The menu has both Western and Asian elements. You can order pastas, clam chowder, deep-fried oysters, burgers, chicken and tuna sandwiches, chicken wings, and quiche alongside curries, pad thai noodles and spring rolls. Kate's also has simple desserts, like sorbet, creme brulee, several flavors of ice cream, and tapioca and coconut milk. Coffee lovers can order espresso, cappuccino, macchiato and cafe latte.

Gecko's Garden


Gecko's has a large selection of wine.


Gecko's Garden is between the Bonji Bistro and the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon. The restaurant has a large menu of starters, soups, lunch and dinner entrees, desserts, wines and beverages. Customers can begin with soup of the day, balsamic chicken salads, baked cheese, fresh mushrooms or scallops. Lunch entrees include grilled chicken, steak sandwiches, lamb, Caesar salad, pasta and grilled beef, while dinner features roasted chicken, beef tenderloin, rib-eye steak, pork loin, salmon fillet, sea bass, and shrimp and anchovy pasta. You also can order from Gecko's selection of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, merlot, bordeaux, sparkling wines, or champagne, and end the meal with a dessert of apple tart, tiramisu, baked Alaska or sorbet.
