Buy Wimbledon Tickets

To buy Wimbledon tickets, you'll need to decide which matches you want to see and act early to get the best selection and availability. The tennis tournaments held annually at Wimbledon are among the most popular sporting events in the world, and tickets can be hard to come by unless you know exactly where to look for them.

Instructions

1. Identify the types of matches you want to see. If you're interested in seeing one of the less popular events just for the experience of watching a match live at Wimbledon, you have several courses of action available to you. One is to purchase them in advance through the Wimbledon box office, and the second is simply to show up at the grounds on the day of the event and queue up to get a crack at the tickets reserved for sale on the day of the match.

2. Ensure that your AELTC Public Ballot entry is postmarked no later than December 31 of the year before the Wimbledon tournament you hope to attend. The AELTC public ballot is the method used to sell the majority of the tickets to popular matches. In essence, you submit your information to the Wimbledon organizers, who will hold a lottery-style draw to determine which participants will be offered the chance to buy tickets.

3. Become an LTA Advantage Ballot member. These members gain special privileges which allow them advanced access to the ballot process used to sell the majority of Centre Court, No. 1 and No. 2 court tickets. Find out what you need to know about LTA membership at the Lawn Tennis Association's official website (see Resources below).

4. Look for Debenture seats to go on sale each year in late May. Debentures are the only tickets that are transferable from one person to another. If you win a ticket ballot, only you (and the people you specify on the ballot) are entitled to use the tickets you acquire, and they cannot be resold or transferred in any other way.

5. Contact an officially licensed Wimbleton ticketing agent for limited access to blocks of tickets. The Wimbledon website provides links to official agents around the globe (see Resources below).

6. Buy Debentures tickets up for resale by keeping an eye on websites where people meet to swap, buy and sell goods. However, take care to ensure that the tickets you buy are authentic.
