MSN Avatar
MSN avatars are a way of establishing your personality in the online world. Use your MSN avatar while chatting in MSN messenger for free. This gives people an idea about who you are. Making avatars also gives you the opportunity to be creative even if you aren't a graphic designer. Most avatar creation programs are free to use and are available with many different options. You can create an MSN avatar that looks like you, or use a picture instead.
Instructions
1. Log in to Windows Live Messenger to set, change, or create your avatar. MSN Messenger is free to download and use.
2. Click on your current avatar. Your MSN avatar will be a default picture like a flower or rubber duck.
3. Select "Change your Display Picture." This will bring up a pop-up menu. You can change your avatar to one of the preset MSN pictures or create your own display picture.
4. Use a real photograph. You can create an avatar in a few seconds using a picture of nature or your dog, for example. Remember, everyone you chat with on Windows Live Messenger will be able to see your avatar.
5. Edit your photo beforehand, as you won't be able to edit it inside Messenger. Crop the picture and remove red eye, if necessary. Your finished avatar will be small so use a picture that is a close up instead of a group of people.
6. Set your avatar to a photograph on your computer. Click the "Browse" button on the "Display Pictures" menu. Select the picture file that you want to use and then click "Open."
7. Create a cartoon MSN Avatar. MSN provides several sites where you can make your own avatar for free from the "Display Pictures" menu. Depending on the site you choose, you can make an animated MSN avatar or one that looks like a cartoon version of yourself. Some of these sites don't require registration. You just have to verify your age and then sign in with your MSN username and password. The WeeMee site doesn't support Firefox so log in with an Internet Explorer browser. Choose funky hairstyles and clothes that show off your own personal style for your MSN avatar. Depending on the avatar site that you use, your cartoon will automatically be uploaded to your MSN profile.
