Create Your Own Tattoo Banner

Classic Tattoo Banner

A tattoo is a long-term commitment and should be personal and meaningful. It should also look just the way you want. Tattoo banners are a classic staple in the tattoo world, and creating your own is a sure way to get what you want.

Instructions

Imagining Your Banner

1. Sketch different banners. Some tattoo banners look like long, winding ribbons. Others look more like a flag. Would you like it wide, thin; smooth around the edges, or ragged? Will it be colored in? With multiple colors or just one? The more thought you put into these decisions, the more likely you'll find an image with personal meaning. Keep in mind words you want on the banner, and how much space they'll take. Also think about the part of your body on which the banner will be tattooed and the size of your tattoo.

2. Internet Research

Once you have the basic design of your tattoo banner, sketch in the words on the banner. Think about what font you want the words written in. Will it be swirly, stark - reminiscent of pirates - or will it looked like it's typed? What size would you like the letters, and how will they be placed on the banner? Also, be sure to check, double-check and triple-check the spelling and grammar of the words on your tattoo banner.

3. Visit the Internet for other images of tattoo banners for ideas and inspiration, and to make sure your tattoo banner is truly unique, if that is important to you.
