Convert a URL to MP3 Format
Music that you hear from the Internet is often playing from a URL Internet address. If you want to capture this music so you can listen to it at any time on your computer, then you'll want to convert and download the music on the website into an audio format such as MP3. There are free website and program options that will allow you to make this conversion possible.
Instructions
1. Try a program like My MP3 Recorder for one software method to capture music from a URL to your computer as an MP3. This program can record any sound you hear on your computer as an MP3. Click the "Record" button to begin recording and the "Stop" button to stop. Make sure nothing else is playing but the URL music while you're recording.
2. Download and install YouTube Downloader if the URL you want to convert comes from YouTube. Copy the address at the top of your browser, and YouTube Downloader will automatically paste the address into the download textbox. You can then download the file and convert it into the format you want, such as MP3.
3. Use a website such as Convertfiles.com if you don't want to install any third-party software. Click on the option to download from a URL, and then paste the website address into the textbox there. Choose "MP3" for the Output Format and then click the "Convert" button. Use the link that appears to download the converted MP3 to your computer.
