Create A Free Music Flyer

Create cool music flyers to receive a crowd.

If you need some cool and professional music flyers to advertise your private music services or to advertise a musical event, there are a variety of ways that you can create them for free. You can either use the software you already have, or a website that will help you to make them. Before you know it, you will be able to email or pass out your uniquely designed music flyers.

Instructions

Create a music flyer using the Band Flyers website

1. Go to the "Band Flyers" website. The site allows you to create free flyers. To do this, select your favorite design. Upload a photo and type in your information about your music event or service. You can send them to other people online, directly, from their website or print them and pass them out.

2. Sign up for "Band Flyers" by clicking "Membership." Enter your email address at the "Band Flyers" website. Confirm your membership through your email. Log in with your email address and password to start working on your new flyer.

3. Click "Create Flyer." Click "Add Photo" on the top of your screen. Choose a "JPG" file to upload and the picture will appear on your screen. Click the "Info" tab and enter your band name, location and date in the text fields. Click the "Font Size" to adjust the font size. To change the color of the fonts, click the "Text Color." If you want blank lines between your text click "Line Height." When you're done, click "Save" or click "Changes" to modify flyer.

Create a music flyer using Photoshop

4. Photoshop has all of the right tools to help you crop your pictures. You can position your text wherever you desire such as slated to the side. You can format your document any way that you desire and input special effects to make things pop. For a simple flyer, launch "Photoshop, click "File" and then "New." Use the drop-down menu to change "Width" and "Height" to pixels. Input 600 for "Width" and 800 for "Height" in the proper fields, ensure the document is set to 300 dpi and click "OK." Your page format will appear on your screen.

5. Look at the bottom right of your screen and click the "Layers" tab. You will see "Background." Unlock "Background" to turn it into a layer by clicking the "Background" icon twice. Click "OK" to confirm the change in the window that appears. A layer is created.

6. Go to "File" and click "Open" to upload your music photo that you want to be displayed on your flyer. New window tabs will appear within Photoshop with your pictures. To drag it into your main window tab, click the "Move Tool" on the top left corner for your Photoshop Toolbar or click "Ctrl + V."

7. Position your picture in the middle of your flyer template. Then click the "Text Tool" on your left side toolbar or tap "T" on your keyboard. Add text above and below your photo. Change the color, text size and font using the tool bar above your flyer format. To add a background picture behind your photo and text, click "File" and then "Open." Choose the background that you desire and click "OK." A new tab will appear on the side of your flyer window tab.

8. Add in or modify any number of photos you wish, but remember to keep focused on your message; too much clutter will prevent people from seeing the important information on the flyer. Less can be more.

9. Click the window where your background photo or picture is located and unlock the "Layer" by clicking the "Background" twice on the right corner of your screen. Click the "Move Tool" and drag the picture onto your flyer window. Release the button and position the background picture where you want it.

10. Adjust the stacking order of the layers if you wish to ensure that all the photos and copy appear in front of or behind each other as they should be. Click "Save As," click the drop-down menu for file format, choose "PSD" and click "Save" to keep a working copy of the layered version of the flyer; this will make it easier for working on flyers later. Go to your layers menu, click it, and choose to flatten the image. Click "Save As," click the drop-down menu for file format and choose "JPG." You're done. Print your music flyer.
