Games For Geometric Shapes

Geometric shapes are used to play various games.

Some games were created for learning about or having fun with geometric shapes. A look at some of these games shows that each one has something to offer you. Games like Luminara, Dots and Squares, Shape Surveyor and Shape Cave each have their own methods of play, but all are focused on the shapes you know from geometry.

Dots and Squares

Dots and Squares is played on your computer -- in fact, against the computer in this game. Your objective is to complete squares on the game screen by connecting lines between two points, or dots. Every time you successfully connect them and fulfill a square you get to draw an extra line towards the creation of another square. To win, you must complete more squares than the computer.

Shape Surveyor

Shape Surveyor combines the fun of archaeology with geometry. In this game, you are presented with a rectangle with all of its measurements labeled except for its area and perimeter. Your job in the game is to calculate those missing measurements. Every time you obtain the correct answer to such geometric questions, you are provided with a piece of a puzzle that is archaeological in nature. When you have all of the puzzle pieces, the solution appears and you win.

Shape Cave

Shape Cave is an online learning game that teaches math and reading. You are challenged to select the right identifications for different shapes. These shapes are fairly simple, and both parents and children can play. Once you properly identify all the shapes, they come together to form a picture.

Luminara

Luminara is an arcade-style game for your computer. The game consists of a variety of colorful shapes, including exploding squares. Your goal is to shoot and destroy all of the shapes in order to win. The only danger is that they will fire back, so you need to be careful.
