Create Unique Baskets

Food gift baskets make unique gift ideas.

Buying gifts may be a challenge for some people on your list but unique gift baskets will make everyone happy. Delightful to create and to unwrap, you should assemble the baskets with a distinctive theme that reflects the hobbies or interests of the gift recipient. Whether making a basket for a Christmas gift, birthday or special event, unique baskets make a charming present for anyone.

Instructions

1. Write a list of interests or hobbies that best represent the person you are giving the gift too. Choose one of these to use as your theme. An interest may be Civil War history or bird watching. A hobby like cooking or dressmaking would make a good theme to use for a unique basket.

2. Shop for a set of goodies to put in the basket. Pick a large gift to use as a focal point for you basket. Pick smaller gifts to place on either side of the large gift.

3. Wad up tissue paper and place the balls in the bottom of the basket. If your basket is small, just layer it with paper shred.

4. Sprinkle paper shred on top of the tissue balls to hide them.

5. Position the largest gift in the center of the basket, resting it on the handle. Assemble the smaller gifts attractively around the larger gift.

6. Turn on the colored tea lights and place them in the basket for a unusual shiny detail. Set your stuffed basket inside a cellophane bag. Pull the sides of the bag up around the basket.

7. Secure the top of the basket by gathering it up in a rubber band. Tighten the band close to the handle of the basket.

8. Wrap a silk ribbon around the basket to cover the rubber band. Dangle a small musical tag to the bag along with a gift tag.
