Design a Greeting Card Logo
Greeting cards of all types are popular for telling someone special how you feel about them. A greeting card should be expressive, not only with what it says, but on a visual level as well. A good greeting card starts with an impressive, recognizable logo.
Instructions
1. Start with an original, memorable name for your greeting card company. The name will be what you design your greeting card logo around. The name you choose should reflect the type of greeting card it represents, whether the logo is for a line of romantic greeting cards or for a holiday line of greeting cards.
2. Sketch your ideas on paper or design in Microsoft Word or a desktop publishing program. Sometimes it helps to use pencil and paper before you take your design to the computer. The sketch doesn't need to be artistically perfect. The purpose of the sketch is to get a general idea about what you want your logo to look like, what colors you might consider using, and whether or not you will be combining a graphic with the text of your logo.
3. Create your greeting card logo with Microsoft Word or desktop publishing software. If you already have Word, you'll find it more than adequate for what you need. Word has several greeting card templates you can use to create your greeting card logo, and Word also has built-in text design features that help you add shape, shading, and texture to your logos. 4. Think visually. Textured text effects work well for greeting card logos. 3D shadow effects are nice too. Avoid applying text shaping effects that make your greeting card logo hard to read. Choose an appropriate color for the main color of your greeting card. If you add a graphic to your greeting card logo, keep the graphic small so it doesn't overshadow your logo text, unless the graphic itself is the main focus of the logo. A good balance of text and graphics presented wisely will create a design for your greeting card that will make it stand out above the rest.
