Design A Golf Flyer

A well-designed flyer will ensure you have golfers for your outing.

A local golf tournament or golf outing requires a great deal of planning to be properly executed, ensuring that everyone involved has an enjoyable day on the course. Advertising the tournament is one of the most important steps, as even the most well organized tournament can not be a success without participants. Designing a catchy, easy to understand flyer is the key to drawing attention to your tournament and filling your spots. A well-designed flyer catches the reader's eye without overwhelming them with information.

Instructions

1. Choose an eye-catching image for the poster. The image will be the element most likely to catch the eye of a passerby who is interested in golf, and as a result should be golf-themed. Standard clip art images of a golfer or tees can work, though a picture of the course the tournament will be held at is better.

2. Write the title of the tournament in large, clear letters. Position the title directly above or directly below the image, so that once the attention is grabbed, the reader's attention is drawn to the title of the tournament.

3. Include all important details of the tournament so that the reader can know all that they need to know to decide if the tournament is something they are interested in. Important information for your flyer to display includes the start and end times of the tournament, fees to enter and the style of tournament, such as individual or teams and whether a handicap will be used.

4. Advertise the extras of the tournament. In addition to a day of recreation, many golfers enjoy outings for the opportunity to win golf gear in raffles or closest ball and longest drive competitions. Additionally, a tournament can offer a cash prize to the winners, which should be advertised as an enticing offer for the reader.

5. List the requirements for participation in the tournament. If there is a set skill level, be it a minimum or maximum handicap, that should be noted, as should any requirements regarding dress, age or gender of participants.

6. Include contact information to ensure that any questions the reader may have can be answered to their satisfaction, preventing the possibility of losing a paying customer to uncertainty.

7. Consider including tear-away slips. Do not extend the main design to the bottom of the page, instead use the lower 2 to 3 inches the write multiple slips with contact information on. Cut between each slip with scissors before hanging to enable readers to easily tear off a slip with contact information.
